See Trevon Diggs make his first NFL interception
Diggs #Diggs
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs came up with the first interception of his NFL career on Sunday night.
The rookie from Alabama picked off a pass in the end zone that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz intended for wide receiver Jalen Reagor on a 1-and-10 snap at the Dallas 34-yard line.
After passing video review, Diggs’ interception came with 2:14 left in the first half and kept the score at 7-6 in Philadelphia’s favor.
Diggs’ interception was the second of the season for the Cowboys, who entered the game tied with the Houston Texans for the fewest in the NFL in 2020.
Diggs was having an active game to that point. He led the Cowboys with four tackles, but he had been beaten for a 32-yard gain by Eagles wide receiver Travis Fulgham and couldn’t quite keep Reagor out of the end zone on the first half’s only touchdown.
Diggs joined Dallas as a second-round selection in the NFL Draft on April 24. Entering Sunday night’s game, Diggs had played 470 defensive snaps – 94 percent for Dallas’ defense.
Diggs intercepted three passes as a senior last season at Alabama.
