CLEVELAND, Ohio — Donovan Mitchell needed three made 3-point shots on Sunday to pass Kevin Love for the third-most triples in a Cavs single season. By the end of the third quarter, Mitchell had eight.

Mitchell sank eight of 12 from beyond the arc and finished the third with a game-high 35 points as the Cavaliers pushed their lead to 20.
Mitchell now has 194 triples and should easily pass J.R. Smith’s record of 204 at some point in Cleveland’s final 18 games. He ranks sixth in the NBA (2nd in the East) in triples made and has made 180+ 3FG in 4 of his 6 NBA season. His 186 triples this season are the most by a Cavalier in their first season with the team.
