*** BEWARE SPOILERS *** One of the big moments in Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 was the reveal the replicant Rachel (Sean Young) from the original movie was not only still “alive” but hadn’t aged a day. Which makes sense. I guess. Anyhow, today, Young reveals she thinks the cameo was “full of sh*t.”

She tells The Daily Beast: “Wasn’t that so full of sh-t? And there was nothing I could do about it. It was very clear that they knew that the audience would be upset that I wasn’t in it, but they didn’t want me to bitch about that publicly. So, they paid me some money, made me sign a non-disclosure agreement, and gave me 30 seconds.“

Young says her lack of involvement was because of her poor relationship with original director Ridley Scott, who wanted her to date Harrison Ford during filming.

She says: “Well, honestly, Ridley wanted me to date [Ford]. He tried very hard at the beginning of the show to date him, and I never would. I was like, Nah. And then he started dating the actress who played Zhora, Joanna Cassidy, and I felt relieved. And then we do this scene, and I think it was Ridley. I think Ridley was like, fuck you. I was thinking, ‘Why did this have to be like that? What was the point of that?’ and I think it was Ridley’s none-too-subtle message that he was getting even with me.”

She adds: “He never hired me again, and that was weird. What the fuck? You hire Russell Crowe a gazillion times and you’re not gonna hire me again? And I was very nice to Ridley over the years. I never badmouthed him. It didn’t occur to me until later that I guess I’d offended him.”

Blade Runner 2049 centered on a new blade runner who unearths a secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard, a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.

Rated R for violence, some sexuality, nudity, and language, it stars Ryan Gosling Harrison Ford. Ana de Armas joined them as Joi with Sylvia Hoeks as Luv, and Robin Wright as Lt. Joshi. Mackenzie Davis rounded out the cast as Mariette, with Dave Bautista as Sapper Morton, and Edward James Olmos as Gaff.

Villeneuve directed Blade Runner 2049 from a screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green based on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. Andrew A. Kosove produced with Broderick Johnson, Bud Yorkin, and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin. Warner Bros. Pictures unleashed it on October 6, 2017.

Jared Leto is up for more Blade Runner movies. He says: “With every character I play, I don’t know if it’s because I work so intently and I tend to dig really deep and put a lot of time and energy into it, but when I’m done playing with them, done playing the parts, I do miss them a little bit. And you do all this work anyway, it would be kind of nice to go back and explore other [characters]. Like Niander Wallace in Blade Runner, I would love to play that part again as a prequel or something.”
