Well-beloved BBC Radio 1 hosts Chris Stark and Scott Mills are officially saying goodbye to their time at the station as they both embark on new projects.
The schedule shake-up will see Mills heading to Radio 2 for his own weekday afternoon show, as Stark plans to dedicate his time to presenting That Peter Crouch Podcast.
The news was announced on social media as Radio 1 tweeted: “A sad day here at @BBCR1 as we say goodbye and a massive thank you to the legends Scott Mills and Chris Stark. Wishing you both all the best for the future; you’ll be a huge miss.”

The presenters decided to break the news through singer Lewis Capaldi in a two-minute video. In the video, Capaldi said: “The boys are absolutely terrified to tell you anything that might upset you or make you feel sad, and I’m not.”
“Frankly, the more sad and terrified you all are the better for me,” he joked, “cause then I can release music that really caters towards that.”
Speaking about Mills’ arrival, Head of Radio 2, Helen Thomas, told the BBC: “It’s an honour to have Scott join the Radio 2 presenter family, and I know our millions of listeners will give him a very warm welcome. We’re looking forward to his fantastic new show every weekday afternoon in the autumn.”

Stark said: “To wake up every day over the last 10 years and get to work with one of my best friends on a show I love is a dream come true.
“I’m excited for the next chapter. I’ve got some exciting plans which will be revealed soon. As one of my favourite artists would say… let’s push things forward.”
Neither DJ is leaving yet and have encouraged fans to tune into their show at 1pm on Monday (July 4) for a special announcement.
