Just when you think Steph Curry already hit his peak, he still finds a way to elevate his play.
In the Warriors’ 106-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night at Chase Center, Curry scored a whopping 40 points on 15-of-23 shooting from the field and 6-of-11 from 3-point range, continuing a recent hot stretch that has rivaled even the best performances of his career.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr, in speaking to reporters postgame, said that he believes Curry, who is averaging 42 points per game on 65.2 percent shooting from the field and 55.3 percent from 3-point range over his last three games, has never been better.
“You run out of adjectives to describe Steph’s play,” Kerr said. “He’s just amazing night after night.
“It’s hard to even remember and compare because he’s just been so good for so long. So if I said this is the best he’s been [Warriors senior vice president of communications Raymond Ridder] would bring up some eight-game stretch he had last year and the year before that and the year before that. So he’s always been brilliant, but I think given the circumstances with our team kind of in a rut and trying to dig our way out of a hole, he’s just been spectacular and never been better, I can say that.”

As the Warriors have struggled out of the gate to begin the 2022-23 NBA season, Curry has been the one to keep the team afloat with performances like the one Friday night.
Golden State, winners of two straight games, is hoping not to rely on Curry night in and night out, though that won’t stop the two-time MVP from delivering monster performances.
