Sauce Gardner making case to start, while O-Line struggles at Jets camp
Berrios #Berrios
Observations from Jets training camp on Wednesday.
Cooking Sauce
Sauce Gardner had an impressive moment early in practice, sticking with Braxton Berrios on a go route down the right sideline and breaking up a deep ball from Joe Flacco. Though Saleh declined to call him the starter afterwards, things continue to trend in that direction.
Holes on O-Line
The offensive line could have done a bit more on Wednesday. Bradlee Anae forced a fumble and Flacco was sent scrambling regularly. John Franklin-Myers in particular wreaked havoc, getting to Flacco more than once.
Caught My Eye
Berrios made a nice play in the end zone to stick with Flacco’s pass after it went off the hands of cornerback Michael Carter II, catching a touchdown pass on a throw that might have easily been intercepted.
Medical Report
Left tackle Duane Brown took 11-on-11 reps for the first time since signing with the team. Defensive lineman Quinnen Williams (ankle) was back in 11-on-11s.
