Sarah Ferguson Shares Lovely Snaps Of The Late Queen Elizabeth’s Corgis In Birthday Post

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson recently celebrated her birthday with several Instagram posts of her playing with the Late Queen Elizabeth’s corgis. The photos showed Ferguson playing with the two pups, Muick and Sandy, who started living with her and Prince Andrew after the Queen’s recent funeral.

Ferguson and Prince Andrew have been divorced since 1996, but she’s maintained a close relationship with the dogs, which extended to Queen Elizabeth II in the last year of her life. She often joined the late monarch for dog walks at the Frogmore House gardens on the Windsor Estate, and it brought them close.

Prince Andrew had originally gifted his mother two corgis, Muick and Fergus, to cheer her up during Prince Philip’s hospitalization. However, Fergus eventually died of a heart defect, and Princess Beatrice replaced him with Sandy. The dogs were reportedly by Queen Elizabeth’s side when she died on September 8th and were brought to her funeral.

Sarah Ferguson Posted Photos Of Her And The Corgis To Mark Her Birthday Instagram/Sarah Ferguson

On Saturday, Ferguson shared two posts to celebrate her 63rd birthday. The Instagram posts included multiple photos of her and the Late Queen Elizabeth’s two corgis, Muick and Sandy. The pups have been living with Ferguson and Prince Andrew since the Queen’s state funeral last month. She captioned one post, “The presents that keep giving..”

Fans quickly flooded the comment section with words of appreciation to the Duchess of York for caring for the dogs. They also wished her a happy birthday and poured in plenty of support. One comment read, “I love that you have these two beautiful friends. They must miss their beloved owner. Our darling Queen would be so pleased to see them both happy and loved.”

A fan wrote, “Happy Birthday Fergie! What a great heart you have and what two great daughter you have raised. I’m sure The Queens dogs are happy and loving life with you.” Another comment read, “Happy Birthday Sarah, thanks for sharing this lovely photos with the corgis. xx”

She Bonded With The Queen Over The Dogs Instagram/Sarah Ferguson

Despite Ferguson’s controversial divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996, the former couple has remained very close and still live together in the Royal Lodge. Ferguson also maintained a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth in the final year of her life, regularly joining her for dog walks in the Frogmore House Gardens on Windsor Estate.

A source spoke to The Telegraph about their close relationship and said, “The Duchess bonded with Her Majesty over dog walking and riding horses, and even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting.”

Prince Andrew Gifted The Corgis To The Late Queen Instagram/Sarah Ferguson

Prince Andrew had originally gifted his mother, The Queen, two corgis, Muick and Fergus, to cheer her up when his father, Prince Philip, was hospitalized in March 2021. Muick was reportedly named after Loch Muick, which is on Queen Elizabeth’s Balmoral Estate, her favorite of the royal residences.

Unfortunately, Fergus died from a heart defect a month after Prince Philip’s death in April. Losing first her husband and then her beloved dog greatly devastated the late monarch, which made Prince Andrew’s daughter, Princess Beatrice, gift Queen Elizabeth a new corgi, Sandy, as a replacement for Fergus.

According to a Page Six report, both Muick and Sandy were in the Queen’s room when she died on September 8th. A heartbreaking photo of the dogs also went viral on social media on the day of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. The photo showed the palace officials holding two pups as they waited for the Queen’s hearse to arrive.

The day before the funeral. Prince William spoke to mourners outside Westminster Hall and assuaged the fears of one woman who was worried about the corgis. According to Page Six, the Prince of Wales said, “I saw them the other day. They’re being looked after fine. They’re two very friendly corgis. They’ve got a good home. They’re being looked after very well.”
