In late January, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, announced that she had been diagnosed with malignant melanoma skin cancer. Since then, the royal has been out of the spotlight, but she made a return to form this week when she headed to Miami for a Haute Living event.
Ferguson stepped out for the evening at a party marking the publication’s Haute 100, which they say celebrates, “the most influential names in Miami—including philanthropists, entrepreneurs, power couples, developers, creatives, athletes, hospitality power players, and more.”

For the event, Ferguson wore a black and white embellished military-style blazer by The Extreme Collection over a black dress and transparent black tights, and paired the style with a Dolce & Gabbana clutch and Geox boots with a glitzy gold-tone heel.
Ferguson—who is the ex-wife of King Charles’s brother Prince Andrew, and the mother of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie—shared her cancer diagnosis on Instagram last month, writing, “Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support.” She had previously been diagnosed with breast cancer last year, and her skin cancer was discovered while she was undergoing reconstructive surgery for a mastectomy, her spokesman told T&C at the time. They added, “She is undergoing further investigations to ensure that this has been caught in the early stages. Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing but the Duchess remains in good spirits.”
Though it’s only February, it’s already been quite a month for the royal family, health-wise. Both Kate Middleton and King Charles recently underwent planned surgical procedures, causing them to step back from royal duties temporarily. The Palace announced earlier this week that in the process of Charles’s treatment, a separate issue was identified, and that he has since been diagnosed with cancer as well.
