Saquon Barkley fires back at Giants legend after signing with Eagles: ‘Don’t smile in my face when you see me’

Saquon #Saquon

Saquon Barkley made the move to the Philadelphia Eagles Monday on the first day of free agency, and that didn’t sit well with at least one former New York Giant.

While discussing Barkley’s move to the Giants’ division rival, former New York running back Tiki Barber had a pretty harsh message for the former Penn State star.

“He’s dead to us,” Barber said on WFAN radio. “You’re dead to us, Saquon.”

That wasn’t all Barber had to say, though. He went on about Barkley, saying that “sometimes he looked average.”

Barkley did not let that slide over on X, formerly Twitter.

He reposted Complex Sports’ post featuring Barber’s quote and tagged Barber.

“(Tiki Barber) lol yup you’re the prime example of loyalty to a team,” Barkley wrote.

Significant right there because Barber abruptly retired on the Giants’ during his run with the team. Barkley wasn’t finished, though.

“I got the deal I wanted, secured more (guaranteed money) which wasn’t given to me before,” he continued. “So if fans are gonna hate me for that so be it! But I never turned my back on my teammates and always had theirs.”

He wasn’t done, though.

“(Tiki Barber) you been a hater since I got to New York,” Barkley said in a second post. “And all the ‘Dead to me’ talk don’t smile in my face when you see me.”

Yeah, so probably just best Tiki steers clear of Barkley for a while.

Anyway, Barber has yet to respond on social media. Should make for interesting radio on Tuesday.
