Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali has now left Turin’s prosecutor’s office amid the investigation over his gabling.

As reported by Sky Italia, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, the hearing is now over, and the player was seen entering a black van on his exit.

Tonali had arrived at the prosecutor’s office at 4pm local time, and was questioned by Emanuele Pedrotta.

The report claims the hearing lasted over two hours, and the player was accompanied by his lawyer and the investigators.

Earlier today, the FIGC released a statement saying that Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli is banned effectively for seven months after reaching an agreement with them. He’s also being fined €12.5k.

The Italian media is now waiting for updates on Tonali’s case, as it’s unclear whether he’s facing similar charges, although Fagioli’s ban should clearly cause worry to him and Newcastle.

On a brighter note, Faglioli was the first player involved and his situation had been considered the most serious, so it’s likely Tonali should get less.

The player’s lawyer today claimed he should be treated as a gambling addict, with sympathy, and thanked Newcastle United for their approach so far.
