San Antonio’s Maya Henry is clapping back at ex-fiancé Liam Payne on social media after the two broke up recently following allegations of cheating. The pair previously called off an engagement in June 2021, but rekindled their relationship two months later before breaking up again in May 2022.

Payne, who’s a former One Direction singer, has been trending in a bad way lately after his latest controversial interview on YouTuber Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive, on Tuesday, May 31. Payne spilled decade-old tea about the five-member group One Direction and falsely claimed that he’s been the most successful soloist following 1D’s 2015 hiatus. Fans of the band promptly dragged him on Twitter with some cold hard facts.

Amid the controversy, TikToker turned aspiring boxer Bryce Hall tweeted he would fight Payne shortly after the podcast was published. Last year, a trend started on TikTok with people saying they are “Team Bryce” in the lead up to a boxing match with YouTuber Austin McBroom (Hall lost by knockout).

Which brings us back to today. Henry, daughter of lawyer Thomas J. Henry, used the “Team Bryce” sound a day after Hall tweeted he would go up against her ex-fiancé. She posted it around noon on Wednesday, June 1, and has received more than 1.8 million views and 335,000 likes from more than 700,000 followers on TikTok and 982,000 on Instagram.

After she posted it, Twitter blew up and supported Henry for her viral TikTok.

“Maya henry broke Twitter (real) this will be Liam’s last straw,” @teabesolonely tweeted.

Henry and Payne decided to split last month, a representative for Payne told The Sun on Monday, May 23. Confirmation of their breakup came after photos of the singer, with his arms wrapped around a mystery brunette woman, were posted on a fan’s Instagram.

Henry, 21, first met Payne at a One Direction meet-and-greet when she was 15. The two announced their engagement in August 2020 after two years of dating, and he popped the question with a ring reportedly worth more than $4 million.

Payne called off the engagement, saying he was “just not that good at relationships.” He revealed he had been battling with alcohol addiction and wanted to work on himself before committing to someone.
