Sam Bennett, a 23-year old amateur golfer, has single handedly become the 2023 Masters biggest storyline, as for the past 24 hours he’s managed for golf media to forget about the PGA Tour and LIV Golf controversy, specially given that a player from the Saudi-backed league, Brooks Koepka, is currently holding a four shot lead after two rounds at the time of this writing.
Sam Bennett was gardening with his mom in 2020 when his dad, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, approached them and told him this words: “Don’t wait to do something.”
Bennett asked his mother to help him get his father to write those words in a note so he could keep them close, with the amateur player remembering it took his dad like 15 minutes to finish it, as he and his mom had to teach him to write every letter again.
