Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, has confirmed that there will be no more DLC fighters coming to the game after the second Fighters Pass comes to a close.
The announcement was made at the end of the Kazuya stream earlier today, which showed off the character’s move set, alternative costumes, and release date. The 11th DLC fighter will be joining the roster tomorrow, June 29.
That means that the Smash community only has one more final fighter to look forward to in the games near three-year lifecycle, which has seen multiple fan favourites including Banjo Kazooie, Steve, and more revealed over the space of two giant DLC packs. Of course, this could change in the future if Nintendo decides to release a third Fighters Pass out of the blue.
Its anyone’s guess really on who the final fighter will be, but thanks to the recent stream we know for a fact that characters like Dante, Shantae, and Lloyd will not be making the cut so it remains to be seen who will drop in as the final fighter in this massive game.
We are expected to hear more about who the character will be close to the end of the year, but the time of the announcement is currently unknown and really depends on the current COVID situation plaguing the world. Until then, all we can do is wait to see which character will send off the series with style.
