Manchester City fans taunted Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Saturday by singing: “You’re getting sacked in the morning!”

The chant rang around the Etihad Stadium as City cruised to a 4-1 win over their rivals.

Liverpool took an early through Mo Salah, but City stormed back with goals from Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish.

City’s dominant display put their supporters in a boisterous mood.

As well as the chant for Klopp, boos and jeers were aimed at former City midfielder James Milner when he came on as a late substitute for Liverpool.

City and Liverpool have regularly been direct title rivals in recent years.

But Saturday’s result left Liverpool 19 points behind City in the Premier League table.

Despite Liverpool’s poor form this season, Klopp’s position is not believed to be under threat.

The German’s current contract at Anfield is due to expire in June 2026.
