Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been having a bit of friendly banter on social media with K-Pop group Stray Kids, so we must be living in a parallel universe or something.
The Deadpool star had already given member Bang Chan a shout out offering to send him a signed bottle of his Aviation gin with Deadpool catchphrase ‘Maximum effort’ written across it.
‘Two things. First, I have your autograph right here, Bang Chan. Will send to you this week. Second, as a new @Stray_Kids fan, can I get an autograph? #NewFavouriteAustralian,’ Ryan tweeted, referring to close Aussie pal Hugh.
He got a reply from Bang Chan, who grew up in Sydney, Australia, offering a copy of the group’s album In Life.
He tweeted: ‘I also have two things. First, an autograph for you? Already on its way. Along with some other goodies that might suit the Red Suit. Second, sorry @RealHughJackman #TheNewFavouriteAustralian.’

Hugh took it all on the chin and showed love for Bang Chan’s band mate Felix, who also hails from Down Under.
The Wolverine star replied: ‘No worries, bang chan! I just worry for @Stray_Kids now that @VancityReynolds is a fan. He can be a lot. Gotta watch out for my fellows Aussies! Hi Felix!’

It came after Bang Chan expressed his love for Deadpool in a livestream in which he sported the superhero’s iconic red and black mask.
The official Twitter account for the Deadpool films, both starring Ryan, retweeted a screengrab and quipped: ‘Pretty sure this is not officially licensed merchandise@stray_kids but we’ll allow it!’
The actor replied: ‘Let’s get him a real mask’, with a tweet from Stray Kids responding: ‘Hope it’s not Green…’ a cheeky quip about Ryan’s turn in Green Lantern (that he would rather forget).
The K-Pop group added an address for Ryan to send his treats for Bang Chan, and their fans were loving the matey exchange.
‘Thoughts on having him produce a song for the next deadpool soundtrack?’ one Stay – the name for Stray Kids’ fandom – said.
‘Can we just appreciate the most precious fact that Ryan and I think Hugh as well knows SKZ and Bang Chan exist this is so wholesome I love it,’ another fan tweeted.

Wrote another Stay: ‘i really hope you guys consider letting him produce a soundtrack for you, he’s not only an amazing artist but he’s a lovely person to work with,’ while one posted: ‘Chan will not be able to sleep for the next 8 days.’
This ain’t Ryan’s first rodeo when it comes to K-Pop as he previously declared himself a member of EXO after meeting the group in South Korea in 2019 while promoting his film 6 Underground.
Stray Kids – made up of Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N – debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2018.
