The celebrity was on a TV interview talking about his 22-year journey in the Kenyan media and the plight of being a single dad.
When asked by the host Robert Burale where his wife was during that period, the actor explained:
“I got my daughter out of wedlock with my high school girlfriend. She eloped with someone when my daughter was nine months while I was out here in Nairobi, in college doing odd jobs struggling to fend for them, and she ended up with someone there.”
He explained that he learnt Ruth’s mom was lured by her elder sister, who told her that because Abel was in the city, he wanted nothing to do with her.
“In my heart, I had committed to marry her. She was my first love. That was my first disappointment, but it was really good because it led me to Christianity. I was so frustrated, and I did a lot of things. I went into a boxing ring to avenge my anger. Eventually, I found that it was null and void,” he added.
Later, Ruth’s mom married an abusive man and one day, while pregnant with the man’s child, he beat her up until she had a stillbirth.
When she was rushed to the hospital, he went to visit her, and she told him to get his daughter from that violent man if he wanted to see his baby alive.
Unfortunately, Ruth’s mom never made it out of the hospital. She died while undergoing treatment.
