Rutgers leads Michigan at half and Wolverine fans are melting down

Rutgers dominated Michigan in the first half of their meeting Saturday night, and the Wolverine faithful are melting down.

The Scarlet Knights entered halftime up 17-7 over Michigan behind two touchdowns from backup quarterback Johnny Langan. The Wolverines pulled one back with a 46-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Milton to Cornelius Johnson, but they also missed two field goals and failed to convert a fourth down.

Michigan fans are fed up with head coach Jim Harbaugh and his team.

The Wolverines entered Saturday on a four-game losing streak, a skid started by an upset loss against in-state rival Michigan State. It is the worst of Harbaugh’s sixth season in Ann Arbor, and after years of what fans see as underachieving, they appear to have had enough.

Rutgers has never beaten Michigan with Harbaugh at the helm, and it has never come close. Over the five meetings, the Wolverines outscored the Scarlet Knights by 219 points, goo for an average margin of victory just under 44 points per game.
