Vedral, one of the Rutgers captains, has not played yet this season.
Rutgers (3-2, 0-2) enters a pivotal Big Ten home game against Nebraska (2-3, 1-1) on Friday with some reinforcements off the injury list.
Here is a recap of where Rutgers’ injured players stand entering the game:
– Quarterback Noah Vedral is not only dressed and available for the contest; he is expected to start the game. He called himself a game-time decision earlier in the week. He was not wearing any protection on his right throwing hand and was wearing a short-sleeve shirt during the Scarlet Walk for the first time this season.

– Redshirt freshman quarterback Gavin Wimsatt is dressed and available but unlikely to play. He was seen walking without a boot on his left leg during the Scarlet Walk. It marks the third consecutive game he does not play. Wimsatt did not dress against Ohio State last week. Wimsatt sustained a lower-body injury in a Week 3 win over Temple.
– Starting cornerback Robert Longerbeam is OUT and will miss a second consecutive game with injury.

– Safeties Shaquan Loyal and Desmond Igbinosun, who both missed the game against the Buckeyes, are both dressed and going through warm-ups.
– Running back Aaron Young is also dressed and warming up for the third consecutive game, but it is unclear if he will make his season debut against the Buckeyes.
– Tight end Victor Konopka, who excelled as a blocker in the first three games of the season, did not dress for the third consecutive game. He will be out for an extended period, Schiano said two weeks ago.
