Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has criticised Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings for his mistake against Chelsea.
The Villa centre-back’s poor header allowed Mason Mount to put Graham Potter’s side ahead in the sixth minute of the Premier League clash at Villa Park.
Ben Chilwell’s cross from the left was deflected up into the air and looked like a simple clearance for Mings, but he got the header wrong and Chelsea capitalised.

Mings and Villa recovered as the first half went on, with Leon Bailey and Danny Ings both being denied by Kepa Arrizabalaga from close range.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday, Keane slammed Mings’ mistake early in the game. He said: “I think it’s a poor mistake, misjudged it, early in the game, not enough pressure on Chilwell.
“Whether there’s a bit of spin on it, he just loses his bearings. Credit to Mount who’s on the move, anticipates it, still early in the game huge set-back for Villa.
“He just gets his timing all wrong, a clear mistake but Mount’s reacted well, a great finish. Disastrous start but they’ve responded well, he does have a mistake in him, that’s a horrendous start for them.”
