Roy Hodgson suffered a medical incident at Crystal Palace’s training ground, talkSPORT understands.

The Eagles boss was scheduled to speak to the media on Thursday afternoon however his media commitments were cancelled as a result of him being taken in to hospital.

The incident occurred during first team training in front of concerned players and coaches.

talkSPORT are awaiting an update on the 76-year-old’s condition.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Crystal Palace wrote: Posting on social media, Crystal Palace wrote: “Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session.”

Hodgson’s press conference was to preview Crystal Palace’s next fixture against Everton which takes place on Monday night – exclusively live on talkSPORT.

Just five points separate them from the drop zone with Everton in 18th place, meaning Monday’s match could be pivotal at Goodison Park.

However with uncertainty over Hodgson’s future, it remains to be seen who will be in the dugout for that clash.

Hodgson is on the brink of the sack at Selhurst Park after a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday night.

Oliver Glasner has been lined up to replace him, talkSPORT understands, with talks taking place on Thursday.

The Austrian coach has verbally agreed to become the new Palace boss, after an impressive time in charge of Eintracht Frankfurt whom he left at the end of last term.

Glasner led Frankfurt to glory in the Europa League in 2022, defeating West Ham in the semi-finals before beating Rangers in the final.
