Rodri has warned the rest of the Premier League that it will be ‘difficult’ for any team to reach the level of Manchester City and Liverpool in the future.
City and Liverpool have been the dominant sides in England in recent seasons, winning the last four Premier League titles between them.
Liverpool lifted the Champions League in 2019 and have reached this year’s final, where they will take on Real Madrid.

The two teams, who are locked in a fierce battle for the Premier League title, have also won a combined four League Cups and one FA Cup in the same period.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United will be hoping to bridge the gap to City and Liverpool – but Spaniard Rodri believes that will be far from an easy task.
‘I think it’s going to be difficult to find a team in the future at the level of the current Manchester City and Liverpool,’ Rodri told City’s official club website.
‘We will see, but I think both teams have been built with two different styles of football, but are similar in terms of efficiency.
‘Without a doubt, Liverpool is the best opponent I have ever faced.’
City and Liverpool have been battling for the top honours for the past four seasons
Rodri, who signed for City from Atletico Madrid in 2019, is in line to make his 100th appearance for the club this week.
The 25-year-old has won the Premier League and two League Cups since arriving in England.
‘Playing in the Premier League is incredible and even more so playing for Manchester City,’ he added. ‘We have shown it in the last few years in the competition.
‘The Premier League is so demanding, so when you win the trophy, it is very rewarding and makes you feel proud. It’s great playing in this country of football, with all the passion from all the fans.’
City and Liverpool are level on points at the top of the Premier League table but Guardiola’s men are ahead on goal difference and have a game in hand as they travel to Wolves on Wednesday night.
