The Las Vegas Raiders Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels have come to an agreement with Jimmy Garoppolo to reunite in the desert.
HENDERSON, Nev.–The Las Vegas Raiders wasted no time agreeing today with Jimmy Garoppolo to reunite in the desert.
Jimmy Garoppolo is everything you want in a QB. He is an excellent presence in the locker room, squeaky clean off the field, and a great player. The downside is that he is habitually injured, and the Raiders are rolling the dice on a great person and player in a league where availability is the best ability.
The deal is for three-years, and $67.5 million, with nearly $35 million in guaranteed money. Adam Schefter first reported the story. The agreement is favorable to the Raiders, thus allowing them some flexibility should Garoppolo struggle to remain healthy.
The Raiders are still planning to select a QB in the upcoming NFL Draft (You can read our latest MOCK Draft here to see who we project them signing), hoping Jimmy G can tutor him.
The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo.
March 13-15 is the free agent negotiation period. Starting at 12 p.m. EDT on March 13 and ending at 3:59:59 p.m. EDT on March 15, clubs are permitted to contact and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2022 Player Contracts at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.
The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period begins at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season.
