Mauricio Pochettino could return to Spurs this summer with the Paris Saint-Germain boss ‘in talks’ over a possible return, according to reports.
The Argentine was sacked by Tottenham in 2019 after guiding the club to their first Champions League final the season before.
Spurs had endured a tough start to the season and were 14th in the Premier League table when Daniel Levy pulled the trigger.

Speaking at the time of Pochettino’s sacking, Levy said: “We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the board have taken lightly, nor in haste.
“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and the beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.
“It falls on the board to make the difficult decisions – this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff – but we do so in the club’s best interests.”
Jose Mourinho was appointed as his successor but, with the club way off Champions League qualification, the Portuguese boss lost his job last month.
Interim boss Ryan Mason steadied the ship over the last few matches, securing a place in next season’s Europa Conference League by finishing seventh.
Spurs are taking their time over who to appoint next with numerous named linked to the position, including Roberto Martinez, Graham Potter, Erik ten Hag and Ralf Rangnick, who are reportedly leading the list of candidates.
After rumours yesterday that Pochettino could be returning to Spurs, The Athletic journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke claims that Tottenham ‘are in talks’ with Pochettino ‘about a shock return to the club this summer’.
Pochettino is understood to be ‘attracted by the idea of a quick return to the London club and to English football after failing to settle in the French capital’.
Pitt-Brooke expects it to be ‘very difficult to pull off’ with Pochettino still contract to PSG for another year and the 49-year-old will ‘most likely have to resign in order to force his way out’.
The report adds that ‘PSG are concerned enough about the situation to be sounding out replacements’ and the Spurs ‘players are aware of the possibility of Pochettino returning, and are excited by the prospect’.
