And before Grealish prepared himself to put a ball into the Leeds box, he was hammered with rubbish.
But the club-record £100million signing was able to make light of it as he was seen chuckling.
Rival fans online did blast Leeds supporters for throwing the litter onto their own pitch.
One tweeted: “You’d think these Leeds fans would show some respect to their own ground. What’s with all the rubbish? Foul.”
Another posted: “I looked down at my phone for a few minutes and when I looked up Leeds fans were hurling trash at Jack Grealish while he was taking a corner.
“There is so much rubbish on the field. What is going on?”
One wrote: “I thought Grealish couldn’t help laughing when Leeds fan kept throwing rubbish onto the pitch.”
Another added: “Why are the Leeds fans throwing rubbish onto the pitch?”
City even tweeted: “@JackGrealish is lining up to take a corner with the surrounding area looking like my living room floor on Christmas morning!”
Rodri opened the lead at Elland Road on 13 minutes before Nathan Ake doubled City’s lead ten minutes after the break.
Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho then made it 4-0 to secure the points and put the league champions top again.
