Nicola Sturgeon has told people in Glasgow not to eat and drink in pubs or restaurants outside the city after senior Scottish Greens, her potential partners in government, were caught breaking Covid-19 rules in an Edinburgh pub.
Patrick Harvie, the party’s co-leader and a Glasgow resident, was photographed drinking with colleagues after they had attended a meeting at Bute House about striking a formal deal with the SNP that could see Greens installed as ministers. The picture also appeared to show the MSPs breaching rules about no more than three households meeting indoors.
Sturgeon said residents should still follow the Level 3 restrictions on hospitality even when making permitted visits out of the city.
