Republican debate: Asa Hutchinson’s red eye grabs attention during 2024 clash

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson drew attention during the Republican debate not just for his denouncement of former President Donald Trump.

Social media users pointed out apparent issues with his eyes, which looked red and dilated.

“Is it just me, or does Asa Hutchinson look like his eye exploded?” writer Mike Cote said.

“Somebody gonna start a Twitter feed for Asa Hutchinson’s demon blood eye?” another quipped with a close-up of Hutchinson’s bloodshot eye.

“I can’t take Asa Hutchinson seriously with that one bloody eye staring back at me,” radio host Matt Murphy said.

Despite his appearance, Hutchinson’s campaign hasn’t previously commented on his health.

Aside from his eyes, Hutchinson also drew attention for his fierce denouncements of Trump, which he has made a centerpiece of his campaign.
