Report: Mavs and Luka Doncic to face Lakers and Lebron James on Christmas Day

Christmas Day #ChristmasDay

The season is a long way away, but the Mavs have an idea of where they will be on Christmas now.

First reported by Marc Stein, multiple reports since then have stated that Lebron James and the Lakers will be traveling to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Christmas Day.

The schedule is rounded out with Bucks at Celtics, 76ers at Knicks, Suns at Nuggets and Grizzlies at Warriors.

This is the third year in a row the Mavs have been scheduled for a Christmas game. Last December, the Mavericks faced the Jazz without Luka Doncic and lost a close contest 120-114 with former players Kristaps Porzingis and Jalen Brunson leading the way with 27 points.

They also visited the Lakers on Christmas two years ago in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. In that game, they lost 138-115 with Doncic scoring 27 while James and co-star Anthony Davis combined for 50 points.

With two consecutive holiday losses under their belts, the Mavs will look to reverse their Christmas fortunes with revenge on the Lakers.
