Enzo Fernandez will sign a deal with Chelsea until June 2021, an eight and a half year deal with the club. It continue the tradition of Todd Boehly handing out long term deals at Chelsea.
The deal was agreed in the last hour between Chelsea and Benfica after a very long day of negotiations. Benfica gave the green light.
Enzo’s new contract with Chelsea is the longest the club has handed out so far.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Enzo Fernandez will sign a deal with Chelsea until 2031, an eight and a half year deal at the club.
The medical is currently ongoing between Chelsea and Enzo and the paperwork is being prepared. Chelsea must get the deal done before the deadline closes.
€120million is the fee agreed between the two clubs and it is likely Chelsea are going to pay the fee in installments. Enzo will join immediately and not in the summer.
Enzo will sign a long-term deal like Mykhailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile have already done this month. It is a theme with Todd Boehly, and helps Chelsea with financial fair play.
The deal of course must be closed in the next hour for the contract to even matter, but there is confidence at Chelsea that they will be able to complete the deal before the deadline.
Enzo is very close to becoming a Chelsea player, and his deal will be one of the longest in recent times.
