Dwight Howard reportedly is leaving the Lakers for the second time after winning his first NBA championship.

Dwight Howard and the Philadelphia 76ers have reached an agreement on a one-year contract, agent Charles Briscoe tells Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The eight-time All-Star center and 16-year NBA veteran is coming off a season of redemption with the Los Angeles Lakers, establishing himself as a reliable bench player. Howard averaged 7.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in the regular season, as well as 1.1 blocks.

Per Bobby Marks of ESPN, the deal is worth the veteran minimum exception of $2.6 million.

Howard will presumably be the primary backup for Joel Embiid in Philadelphia.
