Rebeca Tavares sends seven word message to Fabinho during Liverpool win over Villarreal

Rebeca Tavares lauded Fabinho’s performance as Liverpool recorded a 2-0 win over Villarreal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

The Reds were dominant throughout the first half but failed to find a way through Villarreal as Unai Emery set up his side to frustrate However, Jurgen Klopp’s men soon took a deserved lead after the interval.

On 53 minutes, Jordan Henderson’s cross found its way into the net, via a deflection from Villarreal defender Pervis Estupinan, before Sadio Mane combined with Mohamed Salah to double Liverpool’s lead, moments later. However, it was Fabinho’s display that caught Tavares’ eye on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian produced yet another commanding display at the base of midfield, alongside Henderson and Thiago Alcantara. And Tavares was proud of her husband as he helped take the Reds a step closer to the Champions League final and kept hopes of an unprecedented quadruple alive.

In a post on Twitter, accompanied by two heart-eyed emojis, Tavares wrote: “What a player Fab is, he’s everywhere.” While Tavares’ praise for Fabinho is understandable, few Liverpool supporters would disagree with her assessment.

The 28-year-old has been an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s team this season. Fabinho has played in every Champions League game so far this term and has made 43 appearances overall, scoring seven goals, as Liverpool continue their quest to win all four major honours.
