WEEKENDS. MARGARET: HURRICANE SEASON BEGINS JUNE 1. BUT TOMORROW, THE TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK COMES OUT. IT USED TO START JUNE 1. BUT FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS, WE’VE HAD EARLY DEVELOPMENTS. SO HERE IS A LOOK AT THE NAMES WE REALLY HOPE WE DON’T GET TO KNOW VERY WELL. ANNA, BILL, CLAUDETTE, DANNY, ALL THE WAY TO WANDA AND MAYBE YOU SEE SOMEONE ON THAT LIST THAT YOU KNOW. YOU KNOW THAT NAME. AND LET’S HOPE WE DON’T MEET THEM WELL. RIGHT? SO WE’RE ON A ROLL. WE’VE GOT GREAT WEATHER FOR THIS WEEKEND. I DO SEE A VERY SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN FOR SUNDAY. IT’S GOING TO BE A WARM WEEKEND. HIGH TEMPERATURES, LOW TO THE MID 80’S. AND BY SUNDAY, YOU’RE GOING TO BEGIN TO NOTICE THAT HUMIDITY. AND THEN WE’RE GOING INTO NEXT WEEK, RAIN CHANCES GO UP. WATCHING THE TROPICS, ACTUALLY, FOR NEXT WEEKEND, NOW A COUPLE OF MODELS SAYING THERE COULD BE SOMETHING THAT DEVELOPS IN THE GULF. BUT THIS IS VERY FAR OUT. IT’S JUST SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF. AND MONITOR. BECAUSE WE ARE GETTING TO THAT TIME OF THE YEAR. SO HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING. THE HIGH PRESSURE THAT’S GIVEN US OUR GREAT WEATHER NOW BEGINNING TO HEAD OFF TO THE EAST. PICKING UP MORE OF AN EAST-NORTHEAST FLOW. BUT LOOK AT THAT SOUTH FLOW IN TEXAS. SO WE ARE GOING TO DEVELOP A SOUTHERLY FLOW WHICH MEANS THE HUMIDITY WILL BEGIN TO GO UP. THERE’S NO RAIN OUT THERE AT THIS TIME. WE CAN LOOK AT OUR TEMPERATURES. THEY’RE GREAT RIGHT NOW. AS YOU GO INTO THE MORNING DROPPING INTO THE MID TO UPPER 50’S. NORTH SHORE. SO IT’S GOING TO BE KIND OF CHILLY. SOUTH SHORE, WE’RE IN THE LOW TO THE MID 60’S. SO THAT’S PLEASANT. OF COURSE, CLOSER TO THE LAKE FRONT, AND THE COAST, IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT WARMER. HIGH TEMPERATURES TOMORROW, MORE LOW 80’S. AND SOME OFF AND ON CLOUDS. THEN WE GO INTO SUNDAY, STILL KIND OF COOL IN THE MORNING, NOT QUITE AS COOL AS IT HAS BEEN. THEN THROUGH THE DAY, ISOLATED SHOWER POSSIBLE. THOSE HIGH TEMPERATURES MAY LAY IN THE MID 80’S. HERE IS A LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE. THIS THE GLOBAL FORECAST MODEL, IT IS A GLOBAL MODEL DOES A GOOD JOB. AND YOU CAN SEE, SUNDAY, WE’RE LOOKING PRETTY GOOD. RAIN CHANCES BEGIN TO GO UP MONDAY. NOT AS MUCH TUESDAY, WHICH MEANS TUESDAY IS LOOKING LIKE A WARMER DAY. RAIN CHANCES GO UP WEDNESDAY. AND THURSDAY. AND YEAH, SEEING SOME RAIN AROUND FRIDAY. AND THEN WE’RE LOOKING WHAT’S THAT? SO THIS IS THE GLOBAL FORECAST MODEL. AND IT’S THE ONLY MODEL THAT’S REALLY SAYING JEEZ, SOMETHING COULD DEVELOP NEXT WEEK. THIS IS VERY FAR OFF. IT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. EARLIER, IT HAD SOMETHING KIND OF CLOSER TO THE SOUTH CENTRAL COAST, NOW IT’S MORE TO THE EAST. SO JUST BE AWARE. SOME POTENTIAL BUT IT MAY NOT HAPPEN AT ALL. IT IS THE TIME OF THE YEAR WHERE YOU DO NEED TO PAY ATTENTION AND THAT’S ONLY REASON I SHOWED IT. THIS THE EUROPEAN MODEL, NOT SHOWING ANYTHING DEVELOPING AT ALL. AS YOU GO INTO SUNDAY, NEXT WEEK, YOU CAN SEE HOW THE RAIN WILL BEGIN TO ADD UP ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE WEEK. HIGH TEMPERATURE TODAY, 81. THE AVERAGE IS 85. AND ABOUT THE AREA NOW, LOW 60’S TO THE LOW 70’S. IT’S PRETTY NICE WITH A LIGHT WIND FOR THE MOST PART IT’S BECOMING ONSHORE. LOOKING AT HAMMOND, LOWS IN THE MID TO THE UPPER 50’S. COVINGTON, UPPER 50’S. BY LUNCH TIME, UPPER 70’S. AND THEN IN THE METRO, YOU CAN SEE LOWS MID 60’S. AND IN HOMA RIGHT AT LUNCH TIME, YOU ARE IN THE UPPER 70’S. BEM CHASE, LOW TEMPERATURES, LOW — BELLE CHASSE, LOW TEMPERATURES, LOW 60’S. A LOOK AT YOUR FORECAST. LOOKING PRETTY GREAT FOR TOMORROW. GET OUT AND ENJOY. SUNDAY LOOKING GOOD, A LITTLE BIT WARMER. MORE HUMID. SLIGHT RAIN CHANCE. AND THEN YOU CAN SEE THAT CHANCE OF RAIN

Saturday is a good looking day. Lows on the Northshore in the mid to upper 50s. Lows on the South Shore will be in the low to mid 60s. A little warmer closer to the Lakefront and along the coast. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy Saturday with highs in the low 80s. Warmer Sunday with a few more clouds, increasing humidity and a slight rain chance. Highs will be in the mid 80s. Rain chances begin to go up Monday into next week. It will be off and on. Tropical weather out look begins Saturday. It used to start on June first with the beginning of Hurricane Season, but we’ve had an early start to the Season for the past six years. So the NHC moved the Outlook to May 15th. The GFS model indicates the potential for tropical development next weekend, but it is really the only model developing anything. It is far out. Subject to change. In fact it has already changed from earlier models. This is simply a reminder that hurricane season is almost here.
