Real Madrid have wasted no time in responding to former police commissioner Jose Manuel Villarejo following his inflammatory accusations against Florentino Pérez, in which he claims that the president of Los Blancos “bribed referees before Barcelona” and that he is “untouchable.”
In a statement, Madrid announced that its president has ordered the immediate filing of the corresponding legal action against Villarejo for the false accusations made on the RAC1 radio station.
“Real Madrid C.F. president Florentino Pérez has ordered the immediate filing of the corresponding legal action brought against ex-commissioner Villarejo for the false accusations made on the Catalan radio station RAC1,” the club said.
The former commissioner was very outspoken in his statements about the president of Real Madrid: “Anyone who dared to report Florentino would be committing suicide. It is impossible to take any legal action that affects Florentino Pérez.”
Furthermore, Villarejo provided more details about his relationship with Florentino and revealed an anecdote involving Alfredo Pérez-Rubalcaba: “The late [deputy prime minister Alfredo Perez] Rubalcaba, who was a die-hard Real Madrid fan, used to tell me not to even think about going to the Madrid box because it’s like being in a TV studio.”
