Wade Miley became the first Cincinnati Reds’ pitcher to throw a no-hitter since Homer Bailey in 2013, in a 3-0 win in Cleveland on Friday night. It was Miley’s first career no-hitter in his 11th Major League Baseball season. He threw 114 pitches.
It was the 17th no-hitter in franchise history. It was the fourth no-hitter of the 2021 Major League Baseball season – fifth if Madison Bumgarner’s seven-inning no-no for the Arizona Diamondbacks is included. It’s the second time this season that Cleveland has been no-hit.
