FORMER Fiji 7s rep Iowane Raturaciri’s comeback has been dealt with another blow. The Nukubalavu lad from Savusavu, who won Player of the Match in the final of the Fiji Bitter Namalata-Kadavu 7s, is now in doubt for leg two of the series.
The second leg will be held at the Narauyaba Sports ground in Rakiraki, Ra this weekend, but the 24-year-old told The Fiji Times he is likely to miss it because of a knee injury.
He said this was an injury he had been battling for a long time.
“I’m not sure if I will play in the Malake 7s because I injured my right knee again. It will take maybe three to four weeks of recovery.”
Raturaciri, who is the younger brother of Fiji Water Flying Fijians halfback Frank Lomani, is using the Fiji Bitter Series as a platform to return to the national squad.
Despite the struggles he faced at home, Raturaciri said he would continue to strive for the white jersey.
He takes inspiration from his brother, who he said challenged him every day to be better.
The BLK Lavidi Brothers playmaker, who started playing rugby while in primary school, said he would not stop until he reached the summit of the sport.
