Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has shared his delight at being back at the club, and out on the Old Trafford pitch, following our 2-0 victory over Burnley in the Carabao Cup.

Our no.10 only recently returned from international duty with England following the World Cup in Qatar, but wasted no time in getting back amongst the goals under Erik ten Hag.

Doubling our advantage against the Clarets, Marcus’s superb individual run capped off an impressive team performance that ensured our progression to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Amplifying his joy at being back at the Theatre of Dreams this evening, Rashford was happy to help United see off Burnley.

”It’s always good to come back and it was a tough game,” began Rashford as he spoke to Sky Sports.

”It’s good to get the win and go onto the next round. It’s just about recovering now and being ready for the next game.”

Having superbly to doubled our advantage with a powerful individual run, Old Trafford could be seen in awe of the 25-year-old’s brilliance, as he netted his ninth goal of the season.

After the match, Rashford was keen to talk through his thinking during the build-up to his devastating finish beyond Bailey Peacock-Farrell in front of the Stretford End.

”There was obviously space in front of me and you are almost just waiting for the right time to get the pass off,” he said.

”The gap just appeared and I sort of just went for it. Thankfully it came off.”

Happy to be playing his part as one of Ten Hag’s attacking options this season, Marcus also insisted that he is trying his best to be versatile in order to better benefit the sides output.

“I was quite happy with the game we played,” says Erik, after our Carabao Cup win over Burnley…

”It is such a key factor of my game and I am trying to just improve on being effective on whichever side I am playing on, whether that’s wide or through the middle,” our no.10 added.

”I mentioned before, but the players we have in the team and the passes they can make [are superb].

”I have to just concentrate on making good runs and making sure my timing is good and I feel like I will always make chances.”
