Rangers suffer ANOTHER major injury blow as Zak Lovelace is stretchered off on first Light Blues start

THE injury concerns just keep on coming for Rangers with Zak Lovelace added to the list of casualties.

The 17-year old was handed his first Light Blues start in the Premiership showdown with St Mirren in Paisley.

The former Millwall starlet impressed too.

It was his cross across goal that caused all sorts of problems for the St Mirren defence, leading to Ryan Strain’s handball.

Ref Nick Walsh gave the penalty after VAR review with Strain sent-off.

James Tavernier tucked away the penalty to open the scoring.

But just over 10 minutes later, Lovelace’s match was over.

The England youth international burst down the right hand side, battling Alex Gogic for possession.

But he went down clutching the back of his leg and looked in some amount of pain with what appeared to be a thigh or hamstring issue.

The disappointment was evident in Lovelace’s face as he was replaced by Ross McCausland.

The gutted youngster was then seen sitting at the side of the park as medics brought on a stretcher.

Lovelace was then taken away and now faces an anxious wait to see what the severity of the problem is.

The Gers and interim boss Steven Davis are already without a host of key men.

Rabbi Matondo, Tom Lawrence, Danilo, Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell – as well as Davis himself – are all sidelined.
