Greig was voted the club’s greatest ever player by supporters.
And the club hero picked Jack as the winner of his prestigious award after his comeback from injury and what he’d been through over the last 12 months.
And Jack admitted he was honoured to receive the accolade and revealed Greig’s antics when he visits the Rangers training ground.
He also explained that he is there for any advice that Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side may need while they enter the business end of this year’s campaign.
He told RangersTV: “It says it all that he was up at the training ground a few days ago having lunch and walking about the place.
“He just lifts the place when he comes in. He gives us a bit of stick but it’s all in good humour but I know how much of a legend he is so when he talks you listen to his advice and that’s exactly what he does.
“Obviously I’ve been through a tough time in the last year and he said hopefully this can help me going forward.
“I really appreciate that and the aim now is to take the next step and get a bit of silverware back to Ibrox and then we’ll try and kick on again next season.”
Meanwhile, Andy Halliday has dismissed claims that this season’s Celtic team would be the “worst” to ever win the league title.
The Hearts star, appearing as a pundit on Clyde 1’s SuperScoreboard, addressed a call live on air suggesting the current Hoops squad compares poorly to other title-winning sides.
He said: “I’m a simple believer that the league table doesn’t lie.
“In January Rangers were seven points ahead, so yes, Rangers were in a position to go on and win the league. But unfortunately for Rangers a league is 38 games not 20.
“Since that January period Celtic have been on a remarkable run. You are certainly not a poor side if you play 28 games, win 24 and draw four.
“So the fact of the matter is that if they go on to win the league they deserve to win the league.”
