Rangers fans eat their words after Cyriel Dessers wondergoal against Real Betis – ‘I assumed the account was hacked’
Dessers #Dessers
RANGERS fans could barely take their eyes off a breathless start to the Europa league crunch with Real Betis.
Then they could barely believe what they were seeing as Cyriel Dessers gave them the lead for the second time with a tricky run and cool finish.

The twisting run and nutmeg on Rui Silva sent Gers into dreamland, not to mention top of the section.
They’d eventually be pegged back, just as they were when Abdallah Sima gave them the lead in an end-to-end, exhaustive watch.
But it was Dessers’ goal that had the fans overjoyed – for 17 first-half minutes at least.
The Nigerian has been a fall-guy for the blue side of Glasgow as they struggled under Michael Beale – but the strike in Seville was his eighth of the season so far.

And it may have gone some way to changing fan opinions despite his strike rate just off one goal every 180 minutes.
One delighted fan wrote: “I take back everything I’ve ever said about you”
Another asked for forgiveness on X.com: “Dessers I am very sorry for any slander I may have put on your name.”
One even branded him “Ronaldessers” after footwork not dissimilar to Barcelona’s legendary Brazilian.
Another compared the goal to Archie Gemmill’s famous strike for Scotland against Holland in 1978.
More fans weighed in to praise the forward who was top scorer in the competition with Feyenoord two years ago.
One commented: “He has been watching his goal highlights, now showing why he did cost money! Well done Cyriel”
Another added: “A goal and an assist already in the game? Can’t be Dessers surely… what a game the big man is having.”
A third said: “He absolutely did that Betis fella in – Beautiful goal.”
A fourth added: “The thought process to no just skelp that towards goal and slip it through his legs gives us all hope that there’s actually a player there I think.”
Some couldn’t resist a cheeky dig though.
“Looked like a striker for a moment there,” another fan posted.
One even replied to the club’s goal announcement: “I’m glad I saw it otherwise I’d be assuming the Rangers account had been hacked.”
The Gers turned in for the interval at 2-2 and in third place in the group.
