NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Rainbow Bridge reopened to all traffic Thursday night, more than 30 hours after two people died in a car crash and explosion that led to the eventual closing of all four Western New York border crossings.

The Rainbow bridge was closed before noon Wednesday and reopened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to NITTEC. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection was first to announce the reopening.

The FBI on Wednesday night said its investigation yielded no explosive materials, “and no terrorism nexus was identified. The matter has been turned over to the Niagara Falls Police Department as a traffic investigation.”
