Rain once again dominates the weather outlook in Portland metro area

Hump Day #HumpDay

The forecast in the Portland area continues to repeat itself this week: rainy, cold.

After seeing a little bit of snow at higher elevations Tuesday, the metro region mostly will get rain, off and on with sun bursts, throughout Wednesday, with calm winds. The high will be about 48 degrees Fahrenheit, the National Weather Service says.

The low temperature will drop to around 37. The snow level will land at about 1,100 feet overnight.

Then, after hump day, expect more rain.

Thursday has a 70% chance of precipitation, and winds will pick up, with gusts reaching around 18 miles per hour. We could end up with a quarter of an inch of precipitation.

Friday should offer even more rain – the chance of it is “100%,” the National Weather Service insists. The highs will continue to be in the upper 40s.

The trend likely will continue through the weekend: cloudy, rain off and on. But thanks to an arriving atmospheric river, the highs will move up into the 50s.
