Raiders vs. Chargers live score, updates, highlights from ‘Thursday Night Football’ game
Chargers #Chargers
Fans should be in for an entertaining quarterback duel when Derek Carr and the Raiders take on Justin Herbert and the Chargers on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 15.
The Raiders (7-6) need a win to stay in the hunt for an AFC wild-card spot. They’ve had impressive moments, with wins over the Saints (34-24 in Week 2) and Chiefs (40-32 in Week 6). They’ve also put in some subpar efforts, including losing two of their last three games. They were blown out by the Falcons 43-6 in Week 12 and suffered a tough 44-27 loss to the Colts just four days ago.
The Chargers (4-9) don’t have much left to play for besides pride and draft position. Herbert has had an excellent rookie season, but it hasn’t necessarily translated to wins. For example, he threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns in Los Angeles’ 31-26 loss to Las Vegas in Week 9.

(All times Eastern)
11:29 p.m. — FIELD GOAL, RAIDERS. Mariota can’t complete the pass on third and goal and Las Vegas settles for another 23-yard field goal from Carlson to take a 27-24 lead with 3:18 left to play in overtime.
11:15 p.m. — Raiders win the toss. They’ll receive the ball to start OT.
11:11 p.m. — END OF REGULATION: Raiders 24, Chargers 24. Las Vegas was going to attempt a ridiculous 65-yarder, but the snap was fumbled and recovered by the holder with no time remaining, so we’ll head to overtime.
11:08 p.m. — WIDE LEFT. Badgely misses again, this one from 51 yards. Raiders take over at their 41-yard line, 53 seconds to go and no timeouts remaining.
11:07 p.m. — Timeout, Chargers. Herbert took a bad sack on third down. It’s fourth and 10 from the Las Vegas 33-yard line 58 seconds remaining.
10:59 p.m. — INTERCEPTION. Mariota’s pass is behind Zay Jones and Chris Harris capitalizes with the pick. Chargers take over at the Las Vegas 32-yard line following the 52-yard return, 1:54 remaining.
10:52 p.m. — WIDE LEFT. Chargers don’t get any points as Michael Badgely misses the 47-yarder. Raiders take over at their 28-yard line with 3:38 remaining.
10:45 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN, RAIDERS. Marcus Mariota rolls out and dives for the pylon for the 2-yard TD. It’s all tied up at 24-24 with 6:16 left to play.
10:28 p.m. — END OF 3Q: Chargers 24, Raiders 17. Las Vegas has it, fourth and 2 at its 43-yard line to start the fourth quarter.
10:20 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN, CHARGERS. Kalen Ballage punches it in from 1 yard out to give LA the lead 24-17 with 2:08 left in the third quarter.
10:02 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN, RAIDERS. Josh Jacobs leaps over the pile for the 1-yard TD to tie it up at 17-17 with 7:18 remaining in the third quarter.
Mariota has looked solid in Carr’s absence; he’s completed 6 of 8 passes for 105 yards and a TD, and has added another dimension to the Las Vegas offense with his legs. He showed that on this 26-yard run.
9:51 p.m. — Chargers punt. Another LA drive into Las Vegas territory ends in a punt. Raiders take over at their 24-yard line with 12:41 left in the third quarter following a 16-yard return by Hunter Renfrow. Looks like Renfrow may have been injured on the play.
9:31 p.m. — HALF: Chargers 17, Raiders 10. LA will get the ball to start the second half.
9:29 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN, CHARGERS. Herbert hits Ty Johnson up the right seam for a 26-yard TD. LA leads 17-10 with 19 seconds remaining in the first half.
9:24 p.m. — Raiders punt. Chargers get the ball back at the Las Vegas 49-yard line after an ugly 19-yard punt by AJ Cole, 1:00 left in the half.
9:18 p.m. — FIELD GOAL, CHARGERS. Herbert’s pass sails high and LA settles for a 22-yard field goal to tie it up at 10-10 with 1:52 remaining in the half.
9:14 p.m. — 2-Minute Warning. Chargers have it, third and goal at the 4-yard line.
9:02 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN, RAIDERS. Mariota goes deep down the left sideline over the top to Darren Waller for a 35-yard TD. Raiders take the lead, 10-7 with 9:19 left in the second quarter.
8:57 p.m. — Marcus Mariota in at QB. Looks like Carr is staying on the sidelines for this drive with a groin injury, no reports of whether he’ll return tonight.
Not a bad start for the former Heisman winner.
8:54 p.m. — Chargers punt. LA moves it to midfield but Jalen Guyton drops a would-be first down. That’s Herbert’s first incompletion of the game and the Raiders get the ball back at their 14-yard line with 13:29 remaining in the second quarter.
8:49 p.m. — END OF 1Q: Chargers 7, Raiders 3. LA has it, second and 10 at its 26-yard line to start the second quarter.
8:44 p.m. — FIELD GOAL, RAIDERS. Carr tried to scramble for it on third and goal and it looks like he might be hurt. Las Vegas has to settle for a 23-yard field goal from Daniel Carlson to make it 7-3 with 55 seconds left in the first quarter.
8:34 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN, CHARGERS. Justin Herbert hits Hunter Henry for the 10-yard TD to put LA up 7-0 with 5:56 remaining in the first quarter. Herbert went 6-of-6 for 75 yards and the TD on the opening drive.
8:25 p.m. — Raiders punt. Three and out for Derek Carr and Las Vegas on the opening possession. Chargers get the ball at their 22-yard line to start, 13:25 left in the first quarter.
