We made it. It’s Draft Day. We are just a few hours away from the Las Vegas Raiders making a pick that should improve their football team. But where will they go in the first round?
One of the NFL’s best insiders, Peter Schrager, released his final mock on Thursday morning. In it, he had the team passing on the offensive line and helping the defense.
Schrager had the Raiders selecting linebacker Micah Parsons, the talented linebacker from Penn State. Here is what Schrager had to say about the possible pick:
“The Raiders — particularly head coach Jon Gruden and offensive line coach Tom Cable — would love to see one of the top tackles fall to No. 17. I don’t see it happening. So they go Parsons, who would be an immediate upgrade at linebacker in Las Vegas.”
Parsons is the most athletic linebacker in the class and would add speed to the defense. But is that the best possible use of the No. 17 pick? We shall see. But as we’ve seen over the last few weeks, Parsons to the Raiders is certainly gaining a ton of steam.
