Racing: Kolding wins the All Aged Stakes, Captivant toasted after Champagne Stakes win

Kolding has won the Group 1 All Aged Stakes after a thrilling battle with Savatiano at Randwick in Sydney on Saturday.
The Chris Waller five-year-old gelding appeared to be headed by the Godolphin mare before fighting back to stick his nose out at the winning post.
Kolding finally struck a good track this prep to give Waller his 125th Group 1 victory, while it was a ninth for jockey Brenton Avdulla.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Captivant was too good for them in the 2021 edition of the Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick as he chalked up a maiden Group 1 victory.
The win gave the training partnership back-to-back victories in the race, after King’s Legacy won in 2020, and a fifth overall.
Star hoop James McDonald was the winning rider, lifting his mount to victory ahead of the fast-finishing Hilal.
Converge finished third, while running well above his market price in fourth was the Queenslander I’ve Bean There.
