Quackity Says Goodbye to Friend John Smith in Mysterious Series of Posts

Renowned video game streamer Quackity appeared to say goodbye to his friend John Smith in a string of mysterious posts online.
The YouTube star, real name Alexis, seemingly called time on his friends’ appearance in future streams.
Smith has become somewhat of a favorite among Alexis’ 3.6 million Twitch followers. Most recently, the pair left fans in hysterics when they shared a stream of them on go-karts.
On Thursday, the 20-year-old Mexican gamer took to Twitter to share a snap alongside his friend as they posed in masks.
The gamer then wrote: “Goodbye John smith.”
It has since been shared thousands of times and liked by nearly 100,000 people from Alexis’ legion of followers.
As the tweet began to go viral, some fans began panicking that John Smith had passed away.
The frenzy prompted Alexis to clarify: “no he’s not dead.”
Followers of the streaming sensation were left devastated over the prospect that Smith may not return to the streams and subsequently took to social media to share their thoughts.
User @lovejoyquackity wrote: “John smith leaving and we didn’t even get a goodbye spanish stream? unbelievable.”
“This is a sad day for the john smith community,” @claybyte declared.
@honkersjo wrote: “‘GoodBye John Smith’ WHAT OS THAT SUPPOSE TO MEAN BIG Q NO.”
“I’m gonna miss him a lot, I was hoping for more content with him but it’s okay”, @amelianetwork added.
The announcement also prompted a wave of memes among Alexis’ followers.
One user shared two back-to-back photographs to express his thoughts.
The first showed a man casually walking down the street while speaking to someone on the phone while the second appeared to show him throw his phone to the ground after hearing disappointing news.
Another user shared a GIF of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker’s characters in Fast and Furious 7 driving side-by-side moments before they part ways.
Various other members of the star’s following depicted their feelings through Alexis himself by sharing photographs from his streams where he looked especially upset or stunned.
While some of his viewers were optimistic he was just joking, Alexis has not said otherwise.
Alexis, who is best known for his gameplay videos, found online fame when he began posting on YouTube back in 2013.
He marked his eighth anniversary on the platform on June 3 when he shared a special message with fans.
At the time, he told his Twitter followers: “TODAY IS MY 8 YEAR ANNIVERSARY ON YOUTUBE!!! I’ve literally grown both as a creator and as a person these past 8 years and it’s been one of the most incredible experiences ever. I’m so grateful for being able to do this for so long, thank you guys.”
He now boasts 5 million subscribers on the platform and over 3 million followers on his Twitter profile.
