Qantas CEO Alan Joyce says he thinks the airline company is mostly “back to its best” after posting a profit of $1 billion despite domestic and international fares remaining above pre-COVID levels.
He said they are in a position where they are investing hundreds of millions of dollars in new products and billions of dollars in new aircraft.
“We know that our employees are benefiting out of this turnaround because we are giving them up to $12,000 bonuses this year because the company’s back in profits,” Mr Joyce said.
The CEO added that Qantas shareholders have probably “never been happier” as the market cap rises to the highest it’s ever been.
“Everybody benefits from a company making money like Qantas does because we can make those investments.”
