PSG 1-1 Newcastle: Your views on Tuesday’s game
Champions League #ChampionsLeague
We asked for your thoughts on Tuesday’s 1-1 draw between Newcastle and Paris St-Germain in the Champions League.
Here are some of your comments:
Geoff: The lads were fantastic and they’re starting to become the entertainers that we have missed since the Keegan era! Pope was outstanding, Tino was brilliant, Miley is miles ahead of his age and the whole game was heart-stopping entertainment. The ref was poor and it was never ever a penalty. Mbappe isn’t fit to tie Isak’s boots!
David: We wanted a team who give it everything and care like we do as supporters. We have that team and we have that manager. I couldn’t be prouder of the players. The good times are coming. Remember that.
Ken: Great team performance and I am so sad for the lads who gave their all. I just wish referees would stand up to VAR – you can guarantee when instructed to view the screen replay they will feel an obligation to agree with VAR regardless of their original decision. I can’t recall a referee viewing the screen and saying: “No, my opinion was correct”!
David: Giant performance. Incredible bad luck with the penalty that never was. The support was fantastic as always! Eleven magnificent players who ran and worked for each other and no substitutes at all – PSG used all theirs..
Keith: Amazing from the boys. They looked spirited and played with a lot of confidence and happiness and were robbed by a disgraceful decision. But we can still get to the knockouts which will be on the agenda.
Kevin: Superb gutsy performance by the Toon. Deserved a win and should have won the game. Never a penalty. Appalling decision by the referee.
