During Monday night’s episode of MasterChef, the show kicks off with a brand new week.

Coming off the back of ‘Meet the Master’s Week’ where contestants were shown how to master a particular element, Monday night is a group challenge.

In a preview clip shared exclusively with news.com.au, contestant Eric seems to be in big trouble while filleting a fish.

During the clip, viewers see that he is in a group with Depinder, both going head to head with Tonka’s Head Chef Adam D’Sylva.

While Adam sees Eric struggling to fillet a fish, he shows great sportsmanship by leaving his station to help Eric and give him a filleting 101.

“Eric you look like you’ve left half the fish on the bone there,” Adam taunts Eric.

“I know, I’m in so much trouble,” a highly distressed Eric replies.

Even the cooks on the gantry can’t take it, covering their eyes as they watch Eric destroy the fish he is attempting to fillet.

“Oh god, watching Eric fillet this fish …” says Sabina in agony.

It is at this point that Adam gives up what he is doing to go over and help Eric out.

“I’ll give you a little tip,” Adam explains as he grabs the knife off Eric.

Adam then goes on to give both Eric and Depinder a quick, but informative lesson in how to fillet a larger scale fish.

The relief on Eric’s face really is everything.

Filleting the fish with complete ease, Eric is back to being all smiles after Adam rushes off.

It sets the gantry off with an explosion of cheers now that Eric is back on track.

After both Depinder and Eric thank him, Adam jokes, “You can come and clean my prawns now.”
