Princess of Wales home and ‘making good progress’ after abdominal surgery

A member of the British Royal Family is back home and “making good progress” after having surgery earlier this month, according to Kensington Palace.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, is recovering from a “planned abdominal surgery” that she had on Wednesday, Jan. 17, Kensington Palace said in a statement on X Monday.

“The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided,” the statement read. “The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world.”

Kensington Palace originally said that the princess would most likely not return to her public duties until after Easter as she recovers. Kensington Palace said it will continue to provide updates on her recovery.
