  • The rift amidst the royal family has been well-publicized.

  • However, one source close to the family suggests that Prince William might be willing to reach out to his brother, Harry, for his upcoming birthday.

  • Repairing the relationship would take time, as “the damage has already been done.”

  • The royal siblings, Prince William and Prince Harry, used to be thick as thieves. But these days, the only way to see them standing together is in a wax museum.

We don’t need to get too into the weeds of the reasons why because: 1) it’s already been written about, Netflix documentary-ed about, and certainly internet-commented about, and 2) we’re a gifting site, not a tabloid allegedly paid off by figures connected to one of the parties involved in the split. (If we were, I assure you, I would not be deciding which Chef Boyardee can is lunch and which will be dinner.)

The important thing is that there’s a chance that things could be thawing, if ever so slightly, between the sovereign family where all sides feel slighted. We’ve already reported on King Charles’s supposed hope to reconcile with his son. And now, one royal source suggests that communication between William and Harry might not be impossible.

Grant Harrold, a former butler to the now-King Charles, suggested to the New York Post that Prince William might reach out to Harry “as an olive branch” when the latter turns 39 on Sept. 15.

“If they chat on WhatsApp,” Harrold said of the siblings, “he might get a text, or he might get an email. I hope they do reach out. I’d like to think William would pick up the phone to wish him a happy birthday.”

However, don’t expect everything to be healed in an instant. Harrold summarizes the state of affairs by suggesting that “the damage has already been done.” Royal watchers shouldn’t expect any sentiment to be expressed publicly.

“Well, it was only just Meghan’s birthday,” Harrold points out, “and it wasn’t mentioned by the royal family at all.”

This is surprising because if the Royal Family is looking for positive PR, posting about Meghan Markle could help them latch onto the Suits-mania sweeping the nation. Honestly, we’re all ready to forget all the drama and the scandals. We’re all about Suits now.
