More details have come to light regarding the death of pregnant model Maleesa Mooney.

The 31-year-old model and real estate agent was found dead in her Los Angeles apartment on Tuesday Sept. 12, and authorities have been investigating the circumstances surrounding her mysterious death ever since.

Now, the L.A. County Department Medical Examiner has confirmed that Mooney died from “homicidal violence,” according to documents obtained by E! News. Her case file also lists “other significant conditions” under her cause of death, the outlet reports.

Earlier this week, Mooney’s sister, who happens to be  Guyanese pop star Jourdin Pauline, spoke to KTLA about the terrible circumstances surrounding her sister’s death, stating, “I can’t imagine what my sister went through and it pains me to even think about it.”

Pauline—who revealed that her sister was actually two months pregnant when she died—told the outlet that she still has plenty of unanswered questions about what exactly happened to her sister.

While details of Mooney’s injuries have not been publicly shared, Pauline told KTLA she believes her sister was beaten so badly that it’s made it difficult for the medical examiner to pinpoint an exact cause of death.

Plus, Pauline said it was “stressful” to not know who is responsible for Mooney’s death, stating, “This person is still out there and the police are not telling us anything.”

“What is the hold up? What did the guys see? Can you share it with us?” she asked about the case, which is still under investigation. “Suspects? Surveillance video that you do have? Show us something, tell us something so we can look out for it.”

Authorities still seem to be looking for answers in another potentially related case as well, as model Nichole “Nikki” Coats was found dead in her Los Angeles apartment just two days before Mooney. The two women lived less than three miles away from each other.

However, in an update from the LAPD on Sept. 19, authorities insisted that there was no evidence to suggest the two deaths were connected “based on the investigation thus far.”
